DIY: LILO AND STITCH DISNEY COSTUMES
This year I didn't have anyone to dress up with and really wanted to incorporate my dog into my costume so I figured I'd mix some of my favorite things together- Disney and the beach. Thus Lilo and Stitch was the obvious choice. Now believe it or not I made this decision the beginning of September when my sweet maltipoo Roxy was over due for a haircut. Instead I decided to keep growing her hair out so she would look more like an alien space mut than a dog.
Frequent visits to Savers ended up resulting in the perfect red mu mu which I then cut felt leaves out and sewed them on.
I used way too much bronzer and tanning lotion to give myself a Hawaiian tan and some brown contacts to blend it all together.
Then it was time for Roxy's transformation. Luckily she was a pretty good sport about it all and although she was embarrassed at first for being blue, she ended up LOVING the attention. Don't worry I used animal safe hair dye called Manic Panic found at Sally's Beauty Supply store and followed the instructions!
I'd love to see your rendition of Lilo and Stitch!!! Happy Halloween!!
*Red Dress (I found mine at savers- and actually took it in a foot!) BUT If you want to make one, buy red fabric and use
to sew it!
*Sewing Machine or Glue (fabric or hot glue works best)
*Ben Nye Stage make up for that Hawaiian bronzed skin found
*Brown contacts (If you don't have brown eyes) I got mine
, cut out your flowers from your felt fabric and sew/glue onto your dress.)
HOW TO DYE YOUR DOG
